Knowledge quiz

Quick answer

A knowledge quiz is a quiz where each question has a correct answer and a point value. Correct answers add up to a total score, the score places the respondent in a result band, and each answer can come with a short explanation. In marketing, knowledge and trivia quizzes are used for engagement, education and list growth rather than formal testing.

How marketers use knowledge quizzes

A “How much do you really know about…?” quiz invites people to test themselves and compare scores, which makes it naturally shareable. Brands use them to teach a topic before pitching a product, to warm up a newsletter list, or as a playful challenge with an optional time limit. Browse ready-made trivia in the template gallery.

Knowledge quiz vs scorecard

A knowledge quiz checks whether answers are right; a scorecard assessment has no right answers and instead measures where someone stands across several dimensions. If your goal is to qualify leads, a scorecard usually tells you more.
