What makes a quiz shareable
People share results that say something about them. A quiz spreads when the outcome is an identity worth claiming — a type, an archetype, a score — presented in a way that looks good pasted into a chat or posted to a feed. Shareability is designed into the result, not bolted on afterward.
How to make a shareable quiz, step by step
Give a result worth showing off
Design result types people identify with and feel good sharing — “You’re a …”. Curiosity about which type friends get is what drives the next round of takers.
Write a curiosity-driven title
Lead with the promise of a personal answer — “What’s your … type?”. A specific, identity-based hook gets far more starts and shares than a generic “Take our quiz”.
Design a result page people want to screenshot
Make each result visually clean and self-contained, with the type name and a short, flattering-but-honest description that reads well on its own.
Set up the social preview card
Give the result a share image and title so links unfurl into an attractive preview card on social and messaging apps instead of a bare URL.
Add share prompts and buttons
On the result page, invite people to share and provide one-tap buttons (and a copyable link). Prompt at the moment of delight — right when they see their result.
Where shares come from
- Direct messages — people send results to the friends they’re comparing with.
- Social feeds — screenshots and unfurled preview cards of the result.
- “Send this to a friend” prompts placed on the result page itself.
